Good morning, Concord.
🏘️ Community
A Pinwheel Ceremony is planned in Cabarrus during April to raise awareness about child abuse and prevention efforts — the event will honor those affected and encourage local support.
🏛️ Government
N.C. Sen. Chris Measmer was sworn in on April 15 to represent District 34 after Sen. Paul Newton resigned in March—his old seat on the Cabarrus County Commission remains in limbo as a temporary restraining order stops the approved replacement from taking office.
County commissioners held a meeting on April 10 and approved a new commissioner until the court review ends on April 25.
