Contractors began annual street preservation work today on a portion of Union Street South between Tulip Avenue SW & Rollingwood Drive SE, with crews working from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays.
The City Council approved the project on June 12, and over the next six months, more than 30,000 tons of asphalt will be laid on Concord streets.
Concord police officer Angie Linker retired earlier this month and was honored with the Order of the Longleaf Pine—an award given by the city and the governor.
