Good morning, Concord.

Residents in Cabarrus have a busy schedule of events from May 29 through June 21.

The activities feature hot dog sales at Epworth United Methodist Church, farmers markets in Concord and Kannapolis, bridge games at Hartsell Recreation Center, TOPS meetings, Bible studies, and photography club sessions — offering plenty of local options for community engagement.

Friday Five covers national AI warnings and a tariffs survey that finds many industrial companies have cut jobs and lost profit margins plus Anthropic CEO warns that AI could wipe out half of all entry level white collar jobs within one to five years.

Locally, Burger King unveiled a remodel in Kannapolis with digital ordering kiosks and a new drive through, while ribbon cutting events celebrated new openings for PostNet, Mulch Solutions, Superior Indoor Soccer + Golf, Riccobene Associates Family Dentistry and Ann Street of Shady Brook II.

Guests will tour labs and classrooms and watch live demonstrations at Rowan-Cabarrus summer open house starting at 9 a.m. on June 7 — the event will offer a detailed look at campus facilities and programs.
