➤ Micah Thompson, assistant principal at Concord Middle School, was named the 2025-26 Cabarrus County Schools Assistant Principal of the Year earlier this month at a ceremony held at the school. Independent Tribune

➤ Cabarrus County Emergency Management opened an emergency shelter at the Concord Active Living Center Saturday night — following a State of Emergency declaration — to help residents amid winter storm conditions. Officials also set up an information hotline and closed parks Sunday to ensure community safety. Cabarrus County Government
