  • Cabarrus County Library System launched a new app that offers a one-stop-shop for digital library services today. Residents can now search local collections, renew items, and access resources quickly from their mobile devices.  Independent Tribune
  • Congressman Addison McDowell announced Friday that Haashini Balasubramanian (a 10th-grader from Cox Mill High School in Concord) won North Carolina’s 6th Congressional District app contest. The win highlights young local talent and innovative ideas.  Independent Tribune

  • City offices close Monday, Jan. 19 for MLK Day — solid waste collection is delayed one day. Recreation centers use holiday hours, some open 12 to 6 p.m., and MLK weekend events include a wreath laying Jan. 15 at Grace Lutheran Church, a banquet Jan. 16 in Kannapolis and Dream Day Jan. 19.  City of Concord, North Carolina
