Gobble Gobble 5K

About this event

Locust's Second Annual-Turkey Trot 5-K!

For years, many of us have made memories at the Albemarle Turkey Trot-now it's time start our own tradition right here at home!

Join us for the Gobble Gobble 5K on Thanksgiving morning at 8:00am, starting from the Locust Town Center. This FREE , family-friendly run/walk follows the same fun route as the Locust Elfie 5K-perfect for runners, walkers and anyone ready to earn that extra slice of pie! In 2025 we had 387 registered participants for the event and donated over $1200 to the SCCM Community Table. LET'S MATCH OR BEAT THAT THIS YEAR!

The Stanly County Chamber's Leadership Stanly Class is encouraging participants in both the TURKEY TROT AND GOBBLE GOBBLE to bring CANNED Foods for our local food banks!

🥫 Give Back — Food Drive for SCCM Abemarle & West Stanly In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we will be collecting: 📦 Boxed goods 🥫 Canned food All donations go directly to Stanly Community Christian Ministry Food Bank to support local families.

Let’s fill the donation bins as much as we fill our hearts (and plates later 😋)!

With the Elfie run just a week after, it will be a great practice run for the main event!

Bring your friends, your family and your best turkey hats-let's make this a new Locust tradition!
